Silversilk Tree

Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its stem)

This short tree grows up to 3 meters (9.8 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 543 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a long and flexible, wonky trunk covered in silky, pine-coloured bark, and inside, the very dense wood is silver.

The branches are long and thin and are covered with large amounts of crispy, large, wispy leaves with tattered edges. The leaves themselves are solid turquoise or pink, with indigo splotches.

In late summer it forms medium-sized, dark grey, tough-shelled seeds.

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with the space between filled with undergrowth.

It is suitable for making strong rope
It is almost impossible to grow from cuttings.
