Aquaflare Lily
Flower type: Biennial (Stores water in its leaves)This small flower grows up to 2 inches (5 cm) tall. Its burgundy stem is wispy, and the huge, yellow-green leaves are grey on the underside and are very thick with rounded edges. Many leaves grow at the base of the stem, and more leaves alternate on the stem from about halfway up, up to the flower head.
Each stem splits 6 to 9 times; a single medium-sized flower grows at the end of each split. The flowers are 6 cm (2.4 inches) wide, with azure petals that gradient shift to aquamarine on the outer edge. The central disk is orange. The flower head is largely flat with 7 tightly layered round-tipped petals. They fall easily.
It has a scent whose strength depends on external factors, such as soil quality and rain frequency that smells like cheap aftershave, and it has very little pollen, but can cause severe allergic reactions. It is pollinated by a small species of bird, but is also visited by one species of insect in particular.
It can survive a very long time without water.
It can grow in even the most barren lands.
