Caramel Blossom Tree

This small fruit tree grows up to 8 feet (2.4 meters) tall and lives for up to 25 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 38 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a slender, straight trunk covered in delicate, silky, yellow-brown bark, and inside, the dense wood is dark brown.

The small handful of branches trail down to the ground and are covered with handfuls of small, broad, flat leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are gold and bronze.

In early spring, it produces large amounts of giant, caramel blossoms with oval-shaped shaped petals. They are sturdy and have a fairly strong scent that smells like sugar.

In mid-autumn it produces small, broad, flat fruit. The waxy turquoise skin is thin and sweet, and the slightly crunchy lilac flesh is spicy and very juicy. The bronze seeds are small and are scattered throughout the fruit.

The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with patches of undergrowth between them.
