Cheese Flower Cactus

This average-sized cactus grows up to 45 feet (13.7 meters) tall. It splits partway up the body to form 6 fan-like stems. Each stem is burgundy, and is covered in handfuls of fine, slate, hair-like spines.

It is slow growing, taking 9 years to reach maturity. Once mature, a single flower with petals that are indigo at the sides and lilac at the center grows at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 42 curved petals. It has an overpowering scent that smells like cheese.

The cactus's skin is thin, the crimson flesh is waxy, and the lilac sap is thin and can cause blindness if consumed.
