Pleated Puffgrass

This short, pink-red grass grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall. The pleated stalks grow in extensive patches that are prone to bending and snapping under stress and they are slow to spread and grow.

When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a medium-sized, green puff.

During the late summer, it produces very little pollen, but can cause allergic reactions, and after flowering, it is left with lots of medium-sized grains.
