Emerald Flame Moss

This burgundy moss is commonly found growing in tiny clumps On trees.
It is small, growing up to 2 inches (5 cm) tall. It forms in thick clumps and they spread and grow quickly, and is overwhelmingly flimsy; it burns easily in strong sunlight.
When mature, emerald flame-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early summer to release millions of spores; it does not cause many allergic reactions.
