Twistvine Fir

Tree type: Coniferous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This short tree grows up to 6 meters (19.7 feet) tall and lives "forever", with many known specimens being tens of thousands of years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a knobbly, angular trunk covered in thin, rough, yellow bark, and inside, the light wood is copper-coloured.

The branches trail down towards the ground, covered with large amounts of large, cream and green needles. The needles themselves are light.

In late summer it produces large, intense green aril (seeds with fleshy covers).

The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with clear space between them.

It is said to be able to live for hundreds of years.
It only grows on the most fertile lands.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
