This yellow moss is commonly found growing in small clumps On trees, In rainforests, and In moorlands.
It is small, growing up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. It forms in small clumps and they are exceptionally hardy, and is very rigid.
When mature, emerald shield-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the late autumn to release hundred of spores; it does not cause many allergic reactions.

It is possible to grow it from cuttings.
It comes in 88 varieties.
It coexists peacefully with other plants.
It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
