Vineflower

This modest-sized flower grows up to 1.4 feet (43 cm) tall. Its gray stem is thick and splits into many branching stems at the top, and the miniature, gray-green leaves are 2 pointed with irregular edges. Many leaves grow along the entire length of the stem.

Each stem splits 3 to 7 times; a single medium-sized flower grows at the end of each split. The flowers are 38 cm (15.0 inches) wide, with blood red petals on the lower layer and light grey petals decorated with cyan dots on the inner layer. The central disk is light grey. The flower head is shaped like a dish with 34 raised, round-tipped petals. They fall easily.

It has no scent, and it has very little pollen; it does not cause many allergic reactions. It is pollinated by the wind.
