Copperleaf
Shrub type: Deciduous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)This large shrub grows up to 9 feet (2.7 meters) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 123 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has dozens of long and flexible, straight stems covered in thin, wrinkled, copper-coloured bark, and the wood inside is pale brown-grey.
The branches are long and slender that and are covered with copious amounts of small, broad, flat, leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are a shade of yellow-green that gradient shifts to gold at the top, flimsy and covered in fine hairs.
In mid-summer it produces handfuls of tiny, dark brown flowers with oblong petals with a tube-like floral cup. They detach easily and have an intense scent that smells like paint.
