Clinging Crimson?
Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)This big fruit tree grows up to 44 feet (13.4 meters) tall and lives for up to 20 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 32 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has a long and flexible, wavy trunk covered in wrinkled, yellow-brown bark, and inside, the dense wood is pine-coloured.
The small handful of branches are short stubs and are covered with handfuls of small, very thin leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are solid grey or pink, with gold streaks.
In early spring, it produces many clusters of small, crimson blossoms with slender, pointed petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They are very delicate and have a delicate scent that smells like cherry.
In early winter it produces , broad, flat fruit. The sticky cyan skin is delicate and inedible, and the crunchy purple flesh is salty and oily. The beige seed is tiny and sits at the top of the fruit.
The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.
Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
It out-competes most other plants for nutrients and light.
It is bio-luminescent.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
