Alderweave

This modest-sized tree grows up to 50 meters (164.1 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 92 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a stocky, crooked trunk covered in thin, ridged, dark gray bark, and inside, the flexible wood is burgundy-brown.

The excessive amount of branches are tall, rigid and upright and are covered with sparse amounts of smooth, large, circular leaves with tattered edges. The leaves themselves are either caramel or hazel, with green patches.

In early spring, it produces many clusters of medium-sized, grey blossoms with sickle shaped petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They are hardy and have a delicate scent that smells like damp.

In late summer it forms medium-sized, slate seed pods.

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with patches of undergrowth between them.
