Slantbark Pine

Tree type: Coniferous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This small tree grows up to 4 meters (13.1 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 651 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a thick, slanted trunk covered in paper-thin, wrinkled, light gray bark, and inside, the very light wood is black.

The sparse amount of branches are short and slender, covered with sparse amounts of large, lime or yellow needles. The needles themselves are flimsy.

In late summer it produces medium-sized, caramel, tough-shelled seeds.

The roots are shallow and grow straight down, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
