Eternal Redwood

Tree type: Coniferous (Stores water in its leaves)

This modest-sized tree grows up to 36 meters (118.1 feet) tall and lives "forever", with many known specimens being tens of thousands of years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a slender, straight trunk covered in very thick, ridged, burgundy and brown bark, and inside, the very hard wood is mahogany-coloured.

The excessive amount of branches are short, rigid and upright, with dozens of twigs covered with copious amounts of miniature, red needles. The needles themselves are resilient.

In late summer it produces large, cream, winged seeds that float and land far away.

The roots are shallow and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with the space between filled with undergrowth.

It can survive a long time without water.
Several parts of the tree have medicinal properties.
