Burgundy Marsh Moss

This burgundy moss is commonly found growing in large clumps In marshes, and In heathlands.
It is large, growing up to 9 inches (23 cm) tall. It forms in small clumps and they overwhelm an area rapidly, and is very frail.
When mature, emerald triangular capsules grow at the end of long, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the mid-autumn to release dozens of spores.
