Silvervine
Shrub type: Coniferous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)This short shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for around 27 years. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has many long and flexible, straight stems covered in hard, cracked, silver bark, and the wood inside is copper-coloured.
The branches are long and slender that and are covered with thick bunches of tiny, pleated, leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are solid pink with magenta lines, frail and smooth.
In early spring it produces thick bunches of tiny, caramel blossoms with 9 oval-shaped shaped petals. They are very delicate and have the faintest scent that smells like lavender.
In mid-autumn tiny circular fruits ripen. The smooth black skin is tough and inedible, and the soft olive flesh is salty and oily. The beige seed is large and sits at the end of the fruit.
The colour changes depends on whether the soil is acidic or alkaline.
