Ancient Needlepine

This short tree grows up to 6 meters (19.7 feet) tall and lives for over 2,000 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 2446 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has a branched, wonky trunk covered in cracked, dark gray bark, and inside, the hard wood is yellow-brown.

The abundance of branches are long and thick, with dozens of twigs covered with small bunches of tiny, emerald needles. The needles themselves are delicate.

In late summer it produces large, beige seed pods.

The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with clear space between them.
