Emerald Velvet Moss

This moss green moss is commonly found blanketing tiny areas In rainforests, On trees, and In moorlands.
It is short, growing up to 1 inch (3 cm) tall. It forms in sparse patches and they overwhelm an area rapidly, and is overwhelmingly resilient; it can easily endure being trodden on.
When mature, emerald cylindrical capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the late summer to release thousands of spores; it can cause allergic reactions.
