Elderwood

This giant tree grows up to 127 meters (416.7 feet) tall and lives for over 3,000 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 3054 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a long and flexible, crooked trunk covered in thin, knobbly, white with black speckled bark, and inside, the soft wood is yellow-brown.

The branches are short and slender, covered with large amounts of huge, burgundy needles. The needles themselves are sturdy.

In late summer it produces small, azure aril (seeds with fleshy covers).

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with patches of undergrowth between them.
