Crimson Sickle

This average-sized leaf succulent grows up to 49 feet (14.9 meters) tall. The needle-like stem is grey, and is covered in sharp spines. The toothed-edged, sickle shaped leaves are slate with crimson tips. Large amounts of them grow from the base in alternating layers of 2, then 4, then 6, and so on. The leaves are resilient, and take some effort to detach.

It is slow growing, taking 11 years to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with alternating petals of intense yellow and aquamarine, with a sky blue central disk grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is shaped like a bowl with 55 raised, round-tipped petals. It has an intense scent that smells like bonfire smoke.

The leaf succulent's skin is thin, the olive flesh is rough, and the light purple sap is thin.
