Silverstem Pinktube

This massive flower grows up to 10.3 feet (3.1 meters) tall. Its silver stem is thick and splits into 3 branching stems three quarters of the way up, and the small, yellow-green and emerald leaves are slender, pointed with smooth edges. The leaves alternate on the stem.

A single medium-sized flower sits at the end of each stem. The flowers are 37 cm (14.6 inches) wide, with solid pink petals decorated with yellow dots and a blue central disk. The flower head is shaped like a tube with 38 tightly layered, round-tipped petals. They are sturdy.

It has a delicate scent that smells like faeces, and it has very little pollen; it does not cause many allergic reactions. It is pollinated by the wind, but is also particularly attractive to butterflies.
