Twistvine Tree
Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)This colossal fruit tree grows up to 51 feet (15.5 meters) tall and lives for up to 20 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 42 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has a narrow, twisting trunk covered in thick, rough, yellow-brown bark, and inside, the soft wood is yellow.
The abundance of branches are very long, thin and wispy and are covered with large amounts of giant, broad, flat leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are either copper, or brown with faded orange streaks.
In early spring, it produces balls of tiny, silver blossoms with 5 kidney-shaped shaped petals. They are sturdy and have a weak scent that smells like damp.
In late summer it produces tiny, stiff, pointed fruit. The fuzzy drab red skin is delicate and inedible, and the soft brown flesh is sweet and powdery. The yellow seeds are large and are bunched at the bottom of the fruit.
The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.
Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
It is suitable for making paper
It can grow in even the most barren lands.
