Giant Orange Wispy Flower

Flower type: Perennial (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This big flower grows up to 6.3 feet (1.9 meters) tall. Its brown stem is thin and straight with a curved tip, and the giant, orange leaves are wispy with smooth edges. The leaves grow from the base and are the same length as the stem.

Two small flowers sit at the end of the stem. The flowers are 42 cm (16.5 inches) wide, with solid lime petals decorated with magenta dots and a lime central disk. The flower head is made up of many petals in raised layers. They are sturdy.

It has a delicate scent that smells like baby powder, and it has very little pollen; it does not cause any allergic reactions. It is pollinated by a small species of bird.
