Aquamarine Starflower

Flower type: Perennial (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This small flower grows up to 5 inches (13 cm) tall. Its lime green stems grow from the base of the plant in bunches of 8 and are wispy and straight, and split into several branching stems three quarters of the way up, and the tiny, gray-green leaves are perforated with toothed edges. The leaves grow in pairs along the length of the stem.

Many tiny flowers grow in bunches along the stem. The flowers are 1 cm (0.4 inches) wide, with petals that are copper on the edges and turquoise at the center. The flower head is shaped like a star made up of 10 tightly layered, round-tipped petals. They are very delicate.

It has an intensely strong scent that smells like an ocean breeze, and it has excessive amounts of pollen, but it does not cause any allergic reactions. It is pollinated by the wind.

It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
