Silverblood Tree

This average-sized tree grows up to 11 meters (36.1 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 186 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a narrow, wavy trunk covered in thick, waxy, brown and grey bark, and inside, the very hard wood is burgundy-brown.

The large clumps of branches are very short and thin and are covered with copious amounts of covered in fine hairs, miniature, broad, flat leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are solid silver or blue, with blood red streaks.

In early spring, it produces dozens of large, violet blossoms with needle-like petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They are very delicate and have an overpowering scent that smells like citrus.

In late summer it forms small, azure aril (seeds with fleshy covers).

The roots are shallow and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with grassy ground between them.
