Bog Brown Moss

This brown moss is commonly found growing in medium-sized clumps In bogs.
It is small, growing up to 2 inches (5 cm) tall. It forms in large clumps, and is slightly delicate.
When mature, emerald crescent-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the late autumn to release hundred of spores.

The sap is purple.
It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
It is said to be able to live for hundreds of years.
It is often home to a particular bird species.
