Twisted Pine Shrub

Shrub type: Deciduous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This large shrub grows up to 6 feet (1.8 meters) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 175 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has numerous branched, twisting stems covered in wrinkled, pine-coloured bark, and the wood inside is gray.

The branches trail down towards the ground with thousands of twigs that and are covered with copious amounts of small, circular, leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are generally aquamarine, delicate and clammy.

In mid-summer it produces handfuls of medium-sized, amber flowers with circular petals with a tube-like floral cup. They fall easily and have an intensely strong scent that smells like rotten eggs.

It is possible to grow it from cuttings.
It is suitable for use as a construction material
