Bloodbloom

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This modest-sized fruit tree grows up to 19 feet (5.8 meters) tall and lives for up to 35 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 59 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a very thick, curved trunk covered in very thick, knobbly, yellow-brown bark, and inside, the very dense wood is mahogany-coloured.

The branches trail down towards the ground and are covered with thick bunches of miniature, spear shaped leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are pink and bronze.

In early spring, it produces thick bunches of tiny, azure blossoms with oblong shaped petals. They are sturdy and have a soft scent that smells like blood.

In early winter it produces tiny, oval fruit. The fuzzy crimson skin is thick and edible when boiled; it is bland, and the very soft lilac flesh is spicy and powdery. The white seeds are small and are bunched at the top of the fruit.

The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with grassy ground between them.

It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
