Lilac Bine

Climbing plant type: Bine (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This small bine is a fast growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 17 feet (5.2 meters) and growing as high as 24 feet (7.3 meters). It prefers to grow on rock formations.

It takes 3 months for the gray stems to mature, by which point they have tangled themselves into thick mats with a diameter of 1 cm (0.4 inches) and are hard and brittle.

The stiff, pointed, crispy leaves reach up to 5 inches (13 cm) in length. They are lilac on the sides and lime at the center, and have ripped edges.

During late spring, the bine produces balls of small lime flowers.
