Ember Moss

This pink-red moss is commonly found growing in medium-sized clumps In moorlands, and In heathlands.
It is big, growing up to 9 inches (23 cm) tall. It forms in thin clumps and they are slow to spread and grow, and is slightly flexible.
When mature, emerald flame-shaped capsules grow at the end of elongated, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the mid-summer to release thousands of spores; it does not cause any allergic reactions.
