Chestnut

This brown moss is commonly found growing in large clumps In bogs, On trees, and In moorlands.
It is small, growing up to 1 inch (3 cm) tall. It forms in small clumps, and is slightly frail; it dislikes being stepped on.
When mature, emerald cylindrical capsules grow at the end of elongated, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early winter to release millions of spores.
