Copperflower

Flower type: Annual (Stores water in its stem)

This short flower grows up to 6 inches (15 cm) tall. Its copper stems grow in bunches of 6 and are very thick and straight, and the large, moss green leaves are grey on the underside and are wispy with jagged edges. The leaves grow from the base and are the same length as the stem.

Dozens of giant flowers grow along the length of the stem. The flowers are 2 cm (0.8 inches) wide, with petals that are orange on the edges and bold purple at the center. The flower head is largely flat with handfuls of widely spaced round-tipped petals. They are sturdy.

It has a soft scent that smells like mint, and it has an average amount of pollen. It is pollinated by insects and is particularly attractive to a specific species.
