Gold Moss

This gold moss is commonly found blanketing tiny areas On rotten logs.
It is modest-sized, growing up to 6 inches (15 cm) tall. It forms in thick clumps, and is very resilient; it can easily endure being trodden on.
When mature, emerald circular capsules grow at the end of long, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the mid-autumn to release thousands of spores.
