Magentafruit Tree

This small fruit tree grows up to 6 feet (1.8 meters) tall and lives for up to 35 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 50 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a stocky, straight trunk covered in hard, cracked, burgundy and brown bark, and inside, the dense wood is gray.

The abundance of branches trail down across the ground and are covered with sparse amounts of small, circular leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are light grey at the bottom and magenta with grey patches at the top.

In early spring, it produces thousands of giant, amber blossoms with asymmetrical petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They are hardy and have an overpowering scent that smells like an ocean breeze.

In late autumn it produces , oval fruit. The rough amber skin is thick and edible when boiled; it is sour, and the very soft cyan flesh is very sour and oily. The florescent orange seeds are small and are scattered throughout the fruit.

The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with grassy ground between them.
