Burgundy Moss

This burgundy moss is commonly found growing in small clumps On trees.
It is short, growing up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. It forms in thin clumps and can spread and grow quickly, and is extremely resilient.
When mature, emerald flame-shaped capsules grow at the end of elongated, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the mid-autumn to release thousands of spores.
