Red Velvet Plant

This colossal caudiciform grows up to 34 feet (10.4 meters) tall. The wispy stem is gray-green, and is covered in lots of rigid brown spines. The straight, brown trunk can grow to as much as 34 feet (10.4 meters) in diameter in the middle. Its lime green branches are short, rigid and upright and start growing at the top the stem.

The copious amounts of smooth-edged, slender, pointed leaves are generally red. They are flimsy, but take little effort to detach.

It is slow growing, taking 40 years to reach maturity. Once mature, a handful of flowers, with solid aquamarine petals and a light brown central disk, grow at the top, reappearing once every 6 years. The flower head is made up of 8 petals in raised layers. It has a scent whose strength depends on external factors, such as soil quality and rain frequency that smells like cigarette smoke.

The caudiciform's skin is thin, the orange flesh is sticky, and the bronze sap is thin.
