This crimson and beige moss is commonly found blanketing small areas On rotten logs, and In rainforests.
It is average-sized, growing up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. It forms in large clumps, and is slightly delicate.
When mature, emerald circular capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early autumn to release dozens of spores.

It aggressively steals nutrients from other large plants (but not each other).
It comes in 65 varieties.
It is almost impossible to grow from cuttings.
It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
