Magenta

This modest-sized leaf succulent grows up to 40 feet (12.2 meters) tall. The tapering stem is emerald, and is covered in dozens of rigid magenta spines. The ripped-edged, fan-like leaves are found in yellow and slate varieties. Small bunches of them grow from the base like blades of grass. The leaves are light, but take little effort to detach.

It is very slow growing, taking 13 years to reach maturity. Once mature, a handful of flowers, with petals that are generally violet; each flower tends to be a variation of this colour, grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is made up of 51 petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight dish. It has a mildly strong scent that smells like sugar.

The leaf succulent's skin is nearly impenetrable, the grey flesh is rough, and the lime sap is thin and causes diarrhea if consumed.
