Silkwillow
Shrub type: Deciduous (Stores water in its stem)This small shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for around 16 years. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.
It has several stocky, straight stems covered in very thick, silky, yellow bark, and the wood inside is light brown.
The branches are very long, thin and wispy with thousands of twigs that and are covered with small amounts of large, wispy, leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are solid azure with pink splotches, tough and crispy.
In late spring it produces lots of medium-sized, pastel yellow flowers with 7 V-shaped shaped petals. They fall easily and have a weak scent that smells like cinnamon.
It is suitable for use as a construction material
