Sunflower Bluebell

Flower type: Perennial (Stores water in its leaves)

This short flower grows up to 6 inches (15 cm) tall. Its lime green or muted yellow stem is very thin and splits into 5 branching stems at the top, and the tiny, yellow leaves are dark moss green on the underside and are pleated with smooth edges. The leaves grow from the base and are the same length as the stem.

2 to 7 small flowers grow on alternate sides up the length of the stem. The flowers are 4 cm (1.6 inches) wide, with dull orange petals on the lower layer and azure petals decorated with indigo dots on the inner layer. The central disk is beige. The flower head is made up of 8 petals in raised layers. They are sturdy.

It has the faintest scent that smells like mint, and it has lots of pollen, but it does not cause any allergic reactions. It is pollinated by insects and is particularly attractive to a specific species.

It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
