Cyan Glowfruit Tree
Fruit Tree type: Coniferous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)This average-sized fruit tree grows up to 19 feet (5.8 meters) tall and lives for up to 10 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 27 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has a slender, straight trunk covered in paper-thin, cracked, black bark, and inside, the flexible wood is light brown.
The branches are short and thin and are covered with copious amounts of small, pleated leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are either deep green, or cyan with blue edges.
In early spring, it produces dozens of giant, subtle purple blossoms with sickle shaped petals. They are very delicate and have a mildly strong scent that smells like marzipan.
In late autumn it produces tiny, needle-like fruit. The sticky subtle yellow skin is stretchy and inedible, and the soft cyan flesh is spicy and salty and syrupy. The green seeds are small and are bunched at the top of the fruit.
The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.
Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
It is bio-luminescent.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
