Cyanberry
Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)This small fruit tree grows up to 8 feet (2.4 meters) tall and lives for up to 15 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 34 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has a flexible, straight trunk covered in silky, brown and grey bark, and inside, the light wood is gray.
The tangled mess of branches are short, rigid and upright and are covered with small amounts of small, pleated leaves with tattered edges. The leaves themselves are a shade of lime that gradient shifts to white at the top.
In early spring, it produces many small, deep green blossoms with 8 umbrella-shaped shaped petals. They are hardy and have an overpowering scent that smells like soap.
In late autumn it produces small, pleated fruit. The fuzzy faded red skin is tough and inedible, and the soft cyan flesh is slightly sweet and syrupy. The brown seeds are small and are scattered throughout the fruit.
The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.
Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with grassy ground between them.
