Cyan Tree

Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This big tree grows up to 74 meters (242.8 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 117 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a narrow, straight trunk covered in delicate, silky, burgundy and brown bark, and inside, the light wood is mahogany-coloured.

The numerous branches trail down towards the ground and are covered with large amounts of covered in fine hairs, miniature, thin leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are found in indigo and turquoise varieties.

In early spring, it produces thick bunches of small, red blossoms with circular shaped petals. They fall easily and have a delicate scent that smells like rotten meat.

In late summer it forms small, cyan berries.

The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with the space between filled with undergrowth.

It is almost impossible to grow from cuttings.
It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
