Indigo

This enormous flower grows up to 15.2 feet (4.6 meters) tall. Its intense green or aquamarine stem is very thick and straight, and the huge, orange-yellow leaves are perforated with tattered edges. The leaves alternate on the stem.

Each stem splits 1 to 3 times; a single medium-sized flower grows at the end of each split. The flowers are 69 cm (27.2 inches) wide, with indigo petals and a yellow center. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 11 curved petals. They fall easily.

It has a strong scent that smells like rich perfume, and it has a modest amount of pollen; it does not cause many allergic reactions. It is pollinated by the wind, but is also particularly attractive to insects.
