Flameburst

This small cactus grows up to 8 feet (2.4 meters) tall. It splits at the base to form 3 spear shaped stems. Each stem is orange-yellow, and is covered in thick sheets of fine, drab red, hair-like spines.

It is steady-growing, taking 4 years to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with petals that are violet in the center, green in the middle and lime at the edges grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is largely flat with 4 raised narrow petals. It has a fairly strong scent that smells like faeces.

The cactus's skin is thin, the purple flesh is leathery, and the blue sap is thin and can kill if consumed.
