Turquoise Leaf Tree

This modest-sized tree grows up to 36 meters (118.1 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 87 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a thick, angular trunk covered in delicate, smooth, dark gray bark, and inside, the medium-dense wood is copper-coloured.

The abundance of branches are long and thick and are covered with very large amounts of smooth, miniature, sickle shaped leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are either sky blue or turquoise, with drab blue streaks.

In late summer it forms large, blue aril (seeds with fleshy covers).

The roots spread far and go deep underground, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with patches of undergrowth between them.
