Redleaf Tree

Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its stem)

This massive tree grows up to 103 meters (337.9 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 679 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a sturdy, wonky trunk covered in ridged, black bark, and inside, the soft wood is pale brown.

The small bunches of branches are tall, rigid and upright and are covered with large amounts of fuzzy, tiny, shield-shaped leaves with rounded edges. The leaves themselves are found in bold red, vivid yellow and hazel varieties.

In early spring, it produces many bunches of tiny, pale orange blossoms with slender, pointed petals with a tube-like floral cup. They are sturdy and have an intense scent that smells like rainy days.

In late summer it forms giant, vivid green seed pods.

The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with clear space between them.

It is often home to a particular bird species.
