Purplefruit Tree

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This average-sized fruit tree grows up to 20 feet (6.1 meters) tall and lives for up to 10 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 30 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a very thick, straight trunk covered in fine, silky, dark green bark, and inside, the very dense wood is white.

The abundance of branches trail down across the ground and are covered with handfuls of tiny, very thin leaves with tattered edges. The leaves themselves are either light purple, or amber with orange streaks.

In early spring, it produces hundreds of tiny, beige blossoms with broad, flat petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They detach easily and have a delicate scent that smells like citrus.

In early winter it produces tiny, slender, 6 pointed fruit. The crispy pink skin is peel-able and bitter, and the very soft amber flesh is slightly sweet and sticky. The bronze seed is very large and sits at the top of the fruit.

The roots spread far and go deep underground, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.

It can grow in even the most barren lands.
It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
