Turquoise Cube Flower

This short flower grows up to 1 inch (3 cm) tall. Its gold stem is very thick and splits into 9 branching stems at the top, and the tiny, turquoise leaves are pleated with jagged edges. Many leaves grow along the entire length of the stem.

Two tiny flowers sit at the end of the stem. The flowers are 5 cm (2.0 inches) wide, with aquamarine petals and a turquoise central disk. The flower head is shaped like a cube with 6 raised, narrow petals. They are very delicate.

It has a scent whose strength depends on external factors, such as soil quality and rain frequency that smells like blood, and it has very little pollen. It is a self-pollinator, but is enjoyed by several specific types of insect.
