Magenta

This massive fruit tree grows up to 63 feet (19.2 meters) tall and lives for up to 30 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 58 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a flexible, wonky trunk covered in thin, silky, gray bark, and inside, the very light wood is black.

The branches are short and thin and are covered with small amounts of tiny, finger-like leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are light brown on the sides and hazel at the center.

In early spring, it produces handfuls of medium-sized, red blossoms with 3 teardrop-shaped shaped petals. They are sturdy and have a faint scent that smells like soap.

In late summer it produces small, long, tapering fruit. The rough magenta skin is delicate and bitter, and the slightly crunchy light brown flesh is sweet and spicy and juicy. The white seeds are tiny and are bunched at the bottom of the fruit.

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
